Introduction

This album was originally published as a members-only release on Bandcamp, to my single paying member at the time. I’m not entirely certain whether he even listened to it, if I’m honest. I recently decided to remove membership from my Bandcamp site, making this and one other private release public.

This track was produced and improvised live, in one take, like much of my music. It was an exploration of a new app, and also the first recording with my new pedalboard, which only included 3 pedals at the time.

Listening back to this now, I think it really captures the reality of how my meditative studio sessions tend to play out. This was played on my 6-string Strandberg, and I was still using standard tuning at the time. I’ve since switched to a 7-string Strandberg as my primary instrument, using my custom skip-4 all major thirds (M3) tuning, which can be heard on my latest album, Like Me.
