About this release
This work came together over the last 5 days, spread across mediums, too powerful to be held in a single form. This is intended as a virtual asynchronous exhibit with music, artwork and poetry. Read the poem and then listen to the music while viewing the artwork.
Sorry For Your Loss
Hatred is a blanket Smothering the soul And blocking out the light Yet warm and safe and simple Stifling echoes in silence The ghostly grip of your mother’s arms Dislodging the cries from your belly Love can be lonely Needing a soft target Positioned for penetration Wrapping gratefully around The sharpness of your desire Suddenly trapping and clinging Siphoning your soul Hatred is a shield Reflecting possibility Protecting your lonely child Projecting completeness in separation Cheered by brothers and fathers Needing your pain to satiate theirs A sacred circle of sacrifice Love is elusive Property of the pitiful Bitches and abominations Godforsaken and forsaking god Your anger may be righteous But we’re not mad at you Just sorry for your loss
Thanks so much for taking a few minutes out of your day to be with me in this space. If you stumbled across this newsletter and haven’t subscribed yet, now’s your chance!
